2016 Spring Programme

There is something for everyone in this year's Spring Programme including: the theme music from the popular BBC TV series, Downton Abbey; music from the Eighties; Drums of the Saamis by Samuel Hazo, a merger of the First Nations and modern Albertan cultures; jazz, classical; soothing music and more.

This Spring, we look forward to performing in the Alberta International Band Festival at the University of Calgary, and entertaining family, friends and communities in Calgary.

About Sherwood Community Concert Band

'Sherwood like to play' is a non-auditioned community concert band based in SE Calgary. Adult musicians, of all levels meet up to rehearse or perform on Wednesday evenings.

Our goals...

Our goals are to build our music skills in a fun, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Each year, the band performs several concerts, at schools, seniors’ homes, for family and friends, and at the Alberta International Band Festival at the University of Calgary.

Our Members...

Our members include people from all walks of life: teachers, engineers, small business owners, doctors, professors and many others. Many members started playing in high school, then took some time off, and came back to their instruments years later. Other began playing when they saw how much fun their children were having in band at school and wanted to do the same!

Why not join us?

If you play or have played a band instrument and would like to join us, contact our director, Scott Campbell for more information.
